Innovation Norway grant Stinger R&D funding for developing a CFD leak detection software for the environmental responsible operator. Continuous surveillance of methane concentration underneath an offshore platform has given several readings that intrigued our curiosity. Can we use these measurements to calculate the origin of the outlet? The Stinger Leak Detection project aims to use CFD modelling to explore the flow pattern and gas dispersion below a platform. In such a manner, we can be able to detect and position small subsea gas leaks.
